Classroom Rules:

Bathroom Procedures: Students have multiple opportunities to use the bathroom throughout the day. Students are encouraged to go during certain times throughout the day: Morning- 8:00-8:30. Recess- 9:55-10:30. After Recess during our quick water break- 10:30-10:35. Lunch-12:00-12:45 After Lunch during our quick water break 12:45-12:50.
It is understood that sometimes students will still need to go during class despite the various opportunities. Each student gets 2 bathroom passes a day, in hopes that they can use one in the morning and one in the afternoon. If there is any reason why your child should need to go more often than this, please let me know. First graders cannot help having to use the restroom, but we are trying to work on remembering to go at the proper times.
Labels: Please Label your child's personal items with his/her first and last name.
Snack: Your child will need a small snack every day. Snack is short so small snacks that are easy to eat are best.
Birthdays: Your child's birthday is a special occasion and we enjoy becoming a part of the celebration. Feel free to send in a treat or surprise for the class
that will be served during snack time. Snacks that are easy for your child to hand out are best. (Cupcakes, Rice Crispy treats, Cookies, etc.)
Notes: If you have any notes for me, please send them in their Binder. If you forget to send a note or have last minute change of plans,
please call the office and leave a note for me that way.
Toys/Items from home: Please keep all toys, figurines, trading cards and such at home. We have a lot to learn each day and we need to keep distractions down to a minimum! Thank you.
Homework: Students will be getting homework 3-4 nights a week. Homework is expected to be turned in the next day.
Absences: If your child is going to be absent, please call the office and let them know. We will gladly collect papers in a folder to be completed
upon their return. It is in the child's best interest to be in school as much as possible. Please also make sure that your child is on time for school.
